Human Resources

The Human Resources Department contributes to the enhancement of Renewable Water Resources (ReWa)'s desire to provide professional employees to conduct the Authority’s daily business and to ensure that the mission of ReWa ... protecting and providing a cleaner environment to our communities ... is fulfilled to the best of our ability through quality staffing, leadership development, and a proficient Safety and Security Program that provides a safe and healthy work environment for the protection of our most vital resource--our employees, and for the protection of the environment, property and the public.

The Human Resources Department develops, implements, and monitors the Authority’s Safety and Security Program, Employee Relations, training, and employment programs in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.  The Human Resources Department develops and implements succession planning to ensure the professional growth and development of all employees.

The Human Resources Department strives to have a work/life balance for its employees to include employee activities and also promotes community involvement with the United Way and March of Dimes.

ReWa’s Safety and Security Program is based on a management system containing four basic program elements:  

  • Management Leadership and Employee Involvement
  • Worksite Analysis
  • Hazard Prevention and Control
  • Training.

Under each element are numerous sub-elements.

Management Leadership and Employee Involvement
Specific programs supporting this element:

  • ReWa Safety policy and Safety and Health Code of Ethics;
  • ReWa Employee Health And Safety Committee Charter
  • Safety goals, objectives, action plans;
  • Annual budget allocated to safety and health;
  • Safety Requirements For Contractors And Subcontractors;
  • Visitor Safety & Security for all site visitors, including contractors;

Worksite Analysis
Specific programs supporting this element:

  • Baseline safety and health surveys, with notation of hazard correction;
  • Review of construction plans and ongoing monitoring of construction;
  • Job Hazard Analyses;
  • Employee reports of hazards;
  • Site safety and health inspection results, with hazard corrections noted;
  • Accident investigation reports, with hazard corrections noted;
  • Trend analyses results.

Hazard Prevention and Control
Specific programs supporting this element:

  • Preventive and Reparative Maintenance 
  • Disciplinary program
  • Site Inspections
  • Written Programs
  • Emergency response planning
  • Health surveillance and monitoring records
  • Reports and investigations of near misses, first aid, and OSHA 300 logs

Training
Specific programs supporting this element:

  • New Employee Safety Orientation;
  • Monthly safety training on applicable topics i.e., Confined Space, Fall Protection, Walking/Working Surfaces, etc.;
  • Specialized training i.e., First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driving, Trenching/Excavation, Safety Leadership, etc.;
  • Ongoing job specific training
