Pollution Prevention Awards

In 1993 Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) held its first Annual Pollution Prevention Award presentation.  As part of our continuing effort to recognize industries for their environmental efforts, ReWa annually presents a Pollution Prevention Award.  The industry with the best pollution prevention program will be chosen by a committee made-up of ReWa personnel and members of the Greenville Chamber Environmental Issues Committee.

If you feel that your industry has significantly reduced pollution to ReWa, then please download and complete the application (right).

Examples of pollution prevention are the following:

  • ceased using a toxic chemical
  • use first rinse as next make-up water
  • reduced water usage
  • changed process or method of production while reducing waste, etc.

The deadline for submitting this application is June 1st.



Compliance Excellency Awards

ReWa recognized 34 local industries for demonstrating excellent compliance with environmental regulations throughout 2010. The Compliance Excellency Awards are presented annually to local industries that are in complete compliance with Sewer Use Regulation. ReWa applauds these good neighbors for their outstanding efforts in helping to achieve a cleaner environment in the Upstate.
