Hi! I'm Freshwater Freddie, ReWa’s Public Education Mascot. My job is to teach you how to protect the Upstate's waterways. When I was a tadpole, my parents had a hard time trying to decide what to name me. So, they asked ReWa to help!
Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) had a "Name That Frog" contest. Students from all over Greenville County were asked to send in the name that they thought would be perfect for me! Over 160 students and classes submitted names, and a first grade class from Hollis Academy won! They decided to name me Freshwater Freddie!
Since they did such a good job of coming up with my name, ReWa invited the Hollis Academy students to visit one of our treatment facilities and receive an award. They went on a tour and participated in a wildlife demonstration! Then, they got to celebrate my birthday with me!
