As of January 1, 2013, ReWa will only accept check or cashier's check for payment of the New Account Fee. All checks may be payable to Renewable Water Resources.

New Account Fee Explanation

New account fees may be referred to by a number of different terms including impact fees, capacity fees, capital connection charges or other such terminology. In general, a new account fee is a one-time charge implemented as a means of covering the costs related to capital improvement projects. This practice helps to mitigate the need for existing customers to pay for system expansions entirely through increased user rates.

ReWa bases its new account fee on the size of the water meter being installed (excluding irrigation and fire flow meters). Since wastewater flow is generally a direct function of water flow, applying the wastewater new account fees based upon the size of the water meter is equitable and administratively efficient.
