Dogs Can't Flush

Pick up Pet Waste to Protect the Environment

Water pollution from fecal waste is very harmful to aquatic life and dangerous for humans too. Make sure you clean up after your dogs and cats to help protect your community.

Pick up pet waste in your own yard so it doesn't wash into storm drains.

When you walk your dog, remember to take a plastic bag with you. You can buy bags from pet stores or recycle plastic grocery bags.

Throw the bag in the trash or flush the waste down the toilet without the bag.

You can also bury pet waste, as along as its at least 5 inches deep and located away from gardens or kids play areas.

You can even hire someone to scoop for you: Pooper-scooper.com.

Note: your should never use pet waste for a compost pile, because it contains harmful bacteria and high levels of nitrogen.
